Which Burgh nabe boasts 20 distinctive boutiques and eateries, two world-class museums, a historic carousel and plaza, and much more?

Find out this Saturday, when A Taste of Oakland makes its Pittsburgh debut throughout the state’s third largest business corridor, from noon until 3 p.m.

Tour the thriving Oakland biz district as you sample fine fare from eateries like Mad Mex, Red Oak Café and Leena's, take advantage of great buys at unique boutiques, check out newly remodeled shop facades, and stroll the neighborhood's bustling streets.

Oakland’s steeped in culture too. Taste-goers will receive an impressive package that includes free entry into the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History, free carousel rides in Schenley Plaza and discounted tickets to the Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre and International Children’s Festival.

Tickets are $5 per person, and may be purchased on the day of the event at Eureka Bank (3455 Forbes Ave.) or at the public parklet located at the corner of Forbes Ave. and S. Bouquet St. Free parking for A Taste of Oakland is available at UPMC’s Forbes Tower Surface Lot on Meyran Ave.

And you thought Oakland was just a university town!
