Forbes: Aethon's robots changing health care

A recent Forbes.com article cites Pittsburgh-based Aethon as one of seven hot medical technology start-ups whose innovations are changing health care.

The article focuses on major advances being made in health care by small companies rather than large pharmaceutical and technology giants.

Founded in 2002, Aethon develops mobile robots that use radio frequency identification technology to track and fetch medical supplies. It currently leases robots to 100 U.S. hospitals

Among Aethon's robots is "TUG," (see the slide show) a self-navigating robot that can pick up, sort and deliver medical supplies and meals and run blood samples to labs, allowing nurses to focus on patient care.
