New South Hills development welcomes Fifth Third, restaurant and spa to follow

Work is nearing completion on The Shops of Upper St. Clair, a 13,229-square-foot commercial development located at 1614 Washington Rd. in Upper St. Clair.

Last month, Fifth Third Bank opened a 4,200-square-foot branch within the one-story property, which is located just off of the area's central Rte. 19 corridor. "It's one of the most heavily traveled areas in the South Hills, which gives us great visibility and a lot of retail potential and business possibilities," says Jill Sandilla, with Fifth Third, which is hosting a grand opening on March 27. Founded in 1858, Fifth Third operates 1,200 national locations and 12 in Pittsburgh.

The next tenants slated to move in to The Shops of Upper St. Clair are Acqua Blu Medical Spa and Skin Care Center, which currently operates a site in Cranberry, and Stone Pepper’s Grill, which is also opening a location in Adam’s Township. Owned and operated by board certified plastic surgeon Brian Heil, the 4,576-square-foot Acqua Blu center will specialize in spa servives, scientifically-based skin care regimens and a variety of non-surgical treatments. Centered around a brick oven and exhibition steam kettle cooking model, Stone Pepper’s Grill will carry affordable, premium pizzas and pasta, gourmet burgers and distinctive salads. The 4,453-square-foot restaurant will also feature outdoor seating and a bar.

“The other tenants have taken possession of their spaces and are doing the interior build-out work. They’ll be open for business within ninety days,” says Alyssa Sinicrope, with Paradise Development. Designed by South Side-based Renaissance 3 Architects, The Shops of Upper St. Clair include 93 parking spaces. Contractor is Plum Borough-based Masco Construction.
